Human Rights and Child Rights Officer

Born in 1973 in Tunisia, studied International Relations, Political Science and Public Administration at the London School of Economics and Political Science and the Middle East Technical University. He further continued his studies on Economic and Social Demography at Hacettepe University and on Theory and Practice of Human Rights at University of Essex. In the mean time, he worked with the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the United Nations’ Refugee Agency in Turkey, Association for Solidarity with Asylum Seekers and Migrants, Children’s Legal Centre in the UK. Since November 2004, He has been serving at the ICC as Child Rights Policy and Advocacy Officer running child rights advocacy initiatives. He is a member of the International Society for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and the International Society for Child Indicators, also a member of the Governing Board of the South East Europe Child Rights Action Network (SEECRAN). Mr Arkadas has reports and articles on child rights, human rights and refugee issues. His main areas of interest are monitoring the implementation of human rights normative framework including the Convention on the Rights of the Child and human rights impact assessment.
